Your Petitioner was then set free and at once lodged a Complaint with the Captain Superintendent as he denied at the time and still denies he was at the time he was so accused, aforesaid, either wholly or partially intoxicated or in any way under the influence of alcohol.

The said Captain Superintendent took no notes of your said Petitioner's Complaint but simply forwarded a Report to His Excellency the Acting Governor General Cameron, and your Petitioner's dismissal was ordered.

Your Petitioner then petitioned His Excellency for a rescission of the order and that your Petitioner might be reinstated in the Force. No notice was taken of the said Petition. Your Petitioner shortly afterwards received a note from the Police Department of Hong Kong that his passage was provided to London by one of the Peninsular and Oriental Company's Steamers sailing from Hong Kong on the 16th day of July last, and consequently your Petitioner sailed in the said Vessel and arrived in the Port of London on the 30th day of August last.

Your Petitioner is entirely without employment and in consequence of the aforesaid dismissal and also in consequence of his before-mentioned wound, has at present no prospect of obtaining any.

Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that, taking into consideration your Petitioner's good conduct and long service in an unhealthy Climate, Her most Gracious Majesty may be advised to order him to receive the life pension to which he would have been entitled, had he completed his 10 years' service, or to grant him such other relief as may be fit.
